What is Anti-Aging Medicine? Aging Is Inevitable. Like any machines out there, our human body will function more efficiently and remain more productive if we have check points to periodically uncover deficiencies and prevent malfunctions.
Anti-Aging Medicine is the practice of restoring and regenerating hormones that are lacking with our age. Are you constantly tired? Do you suffer from short term memory loss? Do you have dry skin? Is you abdomen too plump? Are you having trouble losing weight? These questions may suggest that you have a hormone deficiency.
We welcome you to take our short questionnaires attached and see if you are experiencing any signs and symptoms of deficiencies in thyroid, progesterone, growth hormone, estrogen, testosterone, DHEA, or adrenal fatigue.
Make an appointment for your initial consultation. You will begin by visiting with our staff on symptoms and signs that you may have. A set of diagnostic tests will be ordered to give us a thorough assessment of your dysfunctions. You will return for a follow up consultation at which time recommendations will be made with natural bio-identical hormone. We do offer hormone pellet implants for the benefit of maintaining steady level of hormones in the blood stream for the duration of 4-6 months. You will return to clinic in 2-3 months for a blood or urine test to assess your treatment response. Your hormone replacement therapy will be individualized and adjusted to your specific lifestyle needs.

Pellet therapy $250 to $400 per session (single to multiple pellets) (Anti-Aging Hormone Pellets are an optional lifestyle enhancement. It is not covered by medical insurance)

Frequent Questions Asked Regarding BHRT
Where are the pellet implants inserted?
It’s a relatively simple procedure done under local anesthesia. The pellets are inserted into the subcutaneous tissues on upper buttocks.
How long does the implants last?
Typically between 3-5 months depending on the individual’s metabolism.
What are the side effects?
Minimal side effects are associated including: minor bleeding, bruising, infection, and pellet extrusion.
Area may be tender for a few days.
How do I know what hormones I need?
Before starting any hormones replacement therapy, your hormone levels will be checked through blood work. Once pellets have been inserted, hormone levels will be reevaluated before your next round of pellet insertion. Sometime during the first year of therapy, blood work may be obtained more frequently depending on the patients’ feedback and response.
How much does this cost?
The cost for the pellet therapy ranges from $25-$375 depending on the dose of the hormone and the number of pellets needed. Men usually require a much larger dose of testosterone than women and the cost is higher. The pellet placement will not be covered by the insurance.
Are the pellets removable?
Generally, once the hormone pellets are placed, they are not removable except under special circumstances which would require an excision. The hormones are completely dissolved by the body. During the initial treatment, the practitioner may begin with a dose slightly less than required to avoid over dosing. During follow ups on hormone blood levels, additional dose may be added for better response if needed for a minimal cost.
Can a person be allergic to the implants?
Very rarely, a patient can develop local reaction with redness (3-8 cm) and itching. Benedryl cream can be used for local reaction and Benedryl 25-50mg can be used for itching.
